Guided hunt at Coon Creek with the gsp bird dogs

had a great hunt last weekend.  10 bird release.  Dogs pointed way more.  Ended up bagging 12 with a few missed birds.  Both dogs were on fire on a warm day. The each were on a ton of points.  I am giving them each 7 of the birds we took.  Many double points today.  Dogs were even able to pin down some moving birds so the guys had a shot at them. Great day all around. Willow is up to 362 and Autumn is up to 275.

10/30/16 First guided hunt of the season. Dogs are on!

Did the first guided hunt.  Willow was on Fire.  She pointed 5 of the six birds we took.   Autumn took a little while but then turned on pointing a couple of birds but we only bagged one.  A great day in the field. Willows total is 355 and Autumn is up to 268. A great day in the field!

Last GSP german shorthair pointer hunt at Coon Creek on 4/1/16

Had my last guide for the season.  Was all set to see Willow hit 350, but right before we left for the hunt she ripped off part of her nail and the quick was exposed.  Had to leave the poor thing home.  Autumn got to go with two dogs the guys brought. She pointed a lot of the birds today, but it was hard to keep track with running he with two flushers.  I am going to giver her 10 conservatively, knowing the number was much higher.  It puts her up to 267.  I was real happy to see how she worked with two dogs she never met before.

Late post. A few weeks old. GSP upland pheasant hunt at Coon Creek

Got out with a good group of guys.  Dogs ended up with 18 birds.  Seems like they each were on point for at 10.  Some double points.  A good day in the field. This puts Willow up to 346 and Autumn to 257.  A fun time.  Willow was also very confused pointing her first reptile.

Hunt with mark

Got out with Mark for a cleanup hunt.  The birds were running harder than I have seen in a long time.  Temps were in the low 60's, which was a bit warm for the dogs.  We ended up seeing 8 and shooting 4. It was a fun day in the field and I had a great time. Willow got up to 336 and Autumn is at 247.  I have a guided hunt scheduled for this weekend, which probably will be the last hunt I do this year.

Season winding down. A few hunts to post with my german shorthair pointers GSP

Well after this hunt Willow got up to 334 and Autumn is up to 245.  It was a hard hunt in a light rain but the temps are starting to go up so the birds are running everywhere.  The group I guided had a good time and took some nice birds.  I think two more hunts to post for this season and that will be it.

3/7/16 hunt at coon creek with some friends

Ended up doing a hunt.  Released 15 birds and took 15.   Missed a good handful today though.  Dogs did good with the birds running hard.  Each got up six and some just popped up. Willow is up to 326 and Autumn is up to 237.  Just a few weeks left in the season.  Let's see if we get any more this year.
