Guided hunt with new hunters gsp upland hunt at Coon Creek Hunt Club

Had a large group of new hunters out for a guided hunt.  All new hunters in five fields.  Each field has 9 birds released and my group saw all there birds and took 4 home. Not bad for a first hunt.  See the picture of all the birds the group took.  This puts Willow to 386 and Autumn to 294.

Went out and last minute mark decided to join me
  It was a four bird release just to keep the dogs moving.  Ended up taking 14 home
  Missed a few also.  A great day to hunt.  It was the first snow day of the year.  This putts Willow to 384 and autumn to 292.  Great day in the field.

Got out with Uncle John to see if we could get his Gertie to start hunting.  She has been fearful of lots of things.  Decided to just get her all excited by putting some chuckers out and letting her flush them without shooting.  She got so birdy doing that we pushed her into the field a bit more to see if we could find some pheasants to shoot. She ended up pointing three but poor old uncle John couldn't hit a bird today. I brought autumn out at this point and she pointed two that I shot.  Puts her to 287. Willow then came out and pointed one real quick to put her to 377.  She was mad she was the last dog out, but she needed a soft hunt.  It was a great day to find some extra birds running around.

Got out on a nice guide last week. Forgot to post it.  Ended up taking 10 birds on a great hunt.  The dogs worked well and showed us where the birds were.  A few missed in between and some great shots.  I still love watching the dogs work a field.  Willis is up to   376 And Autumn is at 285.  A great day in the field!

Guided hunt at Coon Creek Hunt Club with two kids on their firsr hunt! 11/20/16

Got out on a great guided hunt today. These two great dads decided to get their kids involved in the great outdoors. Willow and Autumn worked hard today.  They did a great job pointing birds for two new hunters. The kids did a great job and seemed to learn a lot about upland hunting.  They each had many good shots and downed some birds. We took 12 birds today and even got a chucker. This puts Willow at 371 and Autumn up to 280. We only brought Autumn out for part of the hunt. The best part of the day was a double point of a hen at the edge of the creek.  The bird flew over, everyone shot, the bird dropped and both dogs launched into the creek to cross it to the bird. Autumn brought it back. It was awesome seeing them work today, and we finally had some weather that did not burn them up.  It stayed below freezing all morning, but that was the perfect hunting temp.  Thanks for a great hunt guys!

Veterans Day 2016 gsp and pointing lab at Coon Creek

got out on Veterans Day with Gerry and his pointing lab. If either of us could have shot it would have been a great day.  We were both missing a lot of birds, but it was a blast as we have been talking about getting out with the dogs. I give each dog one bird for the day, but they pointed way more.  That brings Willow 363 up to and Autumn up to 276.

had a great hunt last weekend.  10 bird release.  Dogs pointed way more.  Ended up bagging 12 with a few missed birds.  Both dogs were on fire on a warm day. The each were on a ton of points.  I am giving them each 7 of the birds we took.  Many double points today.  Dogs were even able to pin down some moving birds so the guys had a shot at them. Great day all around. Willow is up to 362 and Autumn is up to 275.
